Have We Forgotten How to Dream?

As children, dreaming comes naturally. We imagine castles in the clouds, adventures across oceans, and futures filled with endless possibility. Our dreams are vivid, unfiltered, and boundless. But somewhere along the path to adulthood—under the weight of responsibility, expectation, and reality—we forget how to dream.
I’ve always been a dreamer. Escaping into my own world of thoughts and possibilities has never been a waste of time for me—it’s where I find direction, hope, and creativity. If I look back at my life, many of the things I once dreamt about have become my reality. Owning a coffee shop was once just a dream. Today, it’s part of my daily life. It’s a reminder that dreams aren’t childish fantasies—they are the seeds of the future.
But here’s the thing: just because one dream has come true, doesn’t mean the dreaming stops. Dreams are like breaths for the soul—you need them to stay alive inside. They remind you that there’s always something more to create, explore, and believe in.
The Power of Speaking Life into Dreams
I’ve learned that words carry power. When you speak life over your dreams—when you dare to say them out loud, write them down, or visualize them—you give them permission to exist. Faith and words together build a bridge between the unseen and the seen.
There have been moments when life felt heavy, when dreams seemed too far away. Yet even then, I’ve found comfort in reminding myself: life doesn’t happen to us; life happens for us. Every detour, disappointment, or delay is shaping us, preparing us for something bigger than we can see in the moment.
Keeping the Child Within Alive
The child within us is the dreamer—the one who believes that anything is possible. As adults, it’s easy to let that inner child fade under bills, stress, and daily routines. But if we silence that voice, we lose our greatest source of creativity and faith.
So don’t let the child within you die. Keep imagining, hoping, and playing. Dream of things that make your heart beat faster. Whether it’s starting a business, writing a book, traveling the world, finding love, or simply rediscovering joy—dream it boldly and believe it’s possible.
Dare to Dream Again
Dreams aren’t reserved for the young or the lucky—they belong to anyone brave enough to believe again. You may not know how or when, but your dream already exists in a future that’s waiting for you to arrive.
So, close your eyes for a moment and ask yourself: What am I still dreaming of?
Then take a deep breath, whisper it to the universe, and trust that life is already unfolding the way it should.
Because dreams—when mixed with faith, courage, and action—always find a way to come true.
