Manifesting Dreams: A Journey from Aspiration to Reality

Throughout my life, I’ve firmly believed that what you envision and vocalize for your future can manifest into your reality. As humans, we inevitably lose ourselves at times, sometimes more than once, and that’s okay. Really, it is. We’re all just people with unique stories to tell and different ways of living. This diversity is the beauty of life, and the more we can see it that way I think the more we will start loving people around us more.

From Dreams to Dough: My Bakery Journey

Fast forward to where I am today—I’m a part-owner of a successful bakery in the Western Cape, South Africa. Our bakery, which focuses on natural fermentation, is steadily growing. We recently opened our second shop in a lifestyle estate just outside Franschhoek.

Our journey began during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, specifically during level 5 lockdown. We started as an online educational platform and support system for home bakers. Eventually, we began offering workshops and developed a robust online shop, supplying home bakers across the country and even shipping internationally.

As circumstances changed—people returned to work and had less time to bake due to load shedding—we adapted, as one should. We shifted our focus to baking for delis and other establishments. Often, we would return from courses with unbaked bread that required overnight natural fermentation. I began sharing this bread with neighbors, and word quickly spread. One day, two foreign ladies knocked on our door, asking if we could bake bread for them. That’s how we started baking from our garage-turned-bakery. After a year, we moved to a larger space and opened our first shop in Franschhoek.

A Long-Held Dream Realized

Not long ago, I stumbled upon a Facebook post I made nine years ago while sitting in a café on the USA Virgin Islands, St. Thomas. Even back then, I dreamed of owning a coffee shop. That dream never faded; I spoke life into it every chance I got and even had two attempts to open a coffee shop in Cape Town. Of course, there were days when it seemed impossible, but that’s okay. It’s essential to keep moving forward, even if what you’re doing doesn’t seem related to your ultimate goal and it takes you longer than someone else. Every step is a stepping stone. 

Believing in your dreams and manifesting what you want for yourself is crucial. Picture yourself achieving your goals, driving the car you desire, and living the life you envision.

More Than Just a Bakery

This story isn’t just about a boy who dreamed of having a coffee shop one day, it was about more and went for it. It’s about a journey that took over more than nine years to culminate in not just a coffee shop but a special bakery that aligns with my life’s beliefs. Our bakery makes a difference in people’s lives. By offering properly made, healthier bread, we bring back an essential food item to those who had to cut it from their diets. We cater to some gluten-intolerant individuals and even some diabetics. A 100-year-old lady once told us that she could eat bread for the first time in 30 years thanks to our products.

Beyond just making bread, we make a difference by employing people and feeding hungry tummies. Believing in your dreams and working towards them often yields more than you could have imagined.

By believing in and working towards your goals, you often achieve more than you ever expected. Dreams do come true—manifest what you want in your life and see the magic unfold.
